Hello. I am..
The Lurker!
I sit here in my comfy chair, within my Hexagonal ship that travels through all time and space.
It has come to my attention that the origin of the hero called Amazing Guy can be quite confusing. Even with some of his rich history explained clearly it has still flowed forth in such a manner as to confuse the simplest child, like Nats, spiffy or Visionary.
So, to explain the events that led to Amazing Guy’s first appearance in a simple manner, let us look ahead, to a visit from a young alien child and a wizened old man.

The man, who shall remain nameless, knows all there is to know about Amazing Guy, and the child, also to remain nameless, needs to learn about the heroes and events of the Parodyverse.

Let us observe them from their time in the future.

Amazing Tales Special: The Origin of Amazing Guy, simple version... I hope.

Old man garbed in a white robe with a blue flowing cape: “I see you have some Holo Discs for me to read!”
Little alien child with green scales and a diamond prism on his forehead: “Yes! You said that I don’t have much time and that I need to learn everything about the heroes and villains of my new home, the Parodyverse. Tell me about Amazing Guy! Please!”
The old man sits back in his comfy chair and chuckles.
“Alright. I’ll begin.

In this universe, in fact, in this Multiverse, there are forces that control and shape the way the past, present and future will work.
You can look at the Multiverse as a big story that continues on and on. Right now we’re in the middle of that story, at least I hope we are.
There are good forces, which generally want to keep things going right and bad forces that want to take over the story no matter who might get hurt.
Every hero and villain was originally created by one of these two sets of forces. Amazing Guy was created by the good forces.

There will come a day when a big war will be fought. This war will be called the Resolution War. Several heroes will be needed for that war.
One of those heroes will need to be powerful. A true leader to rally the other heroes and bring about a safe ending to the war instead of the apocalyptic ending that many have foreseen.
The first hero to be chosen was a hero called Jarvis, but Jarvis was to die long before the war would occur.
An agent of those good forces, a being called the Chronicler of Stories, knew this was the case and looked for a new champion to fill the role. He made it known to other cosmic agents, beings who work for the cosmic forces, that a new hero was needed.
Things were tricky though.

See there was (and still is) a being who is so self absorbed and so powerful that he watched the Chronicler to see what he would do. This being was called the Hooded Hood. He peered through his mirrors and waited to see what new hero would become the future leader for good during the Resolution War.
The Chronicler knew he had to hide his champion from the Hood’s eyes, so that the evil Hood wouldn’t be able to twist the hero for his own purposes.
The hero had to be immune to the Hood’s powers. And to do that he needed to be from elsewhere yet to be the true champion he needed to also be from the Parodyverse.
I know that is a paradox.

Then one came to the Chronicler and explained a plan he had. He would find a human from the Parodyverse, in fact from the city called Paradopolis, and use him as a pawn or a ringer. This mere mortal shall attract the attention of the Hood while the real champion was getting readied for his mission. This human would get his powers from the true hero. This agent of the Chronicler was called the Paradox Stranger. He was in trouble thanks to certain actions he preformed and the Chronicler and his two partners had threatened the Stranger with penalty. This was the Stranger’s chance to do good.
The plan was complicated but in it’s complication lied enough room to hide the champion from the Hood.
Now that I’ve set this all up let me explain about a little land unknown to all but a few. It’s on this land that the TRUE hero would be found.

There was a strange place that seemed almost like a fairy tale. It was called Lytlsmlvl. This place was really a fifteen-mile wide, twenty-mile long piece of land that existed on it’s own, sort of. See it was not on the Earth or a different planet, like the ones your parents came from. It did not reside in the air or under the sea. No it simply existed all by itself at first. Then it moved. Not like other things move, but instead it shifted from one universe to another. From one alternate Earth to another.
One day it might be on an Earth over run with jungle, the next day on an Earth covered in snow.
Every time Lytlsmlvl appeared on an Earth, that world shifted to that the people native to that Earth believed that Lytlsmlvl had always been there. When it would leave no one would remember it was ever there. This means it had a natural retcon field.
Lytlsmlvl had people on it too. They were called the Lytlsmlvlians (which means The People of Change). Just like with the natives of the various Earths, the Lytlsmlvlians would never notice the change. Their minds, clothes, language and customs changed to reflect the Earths they appeared on. If a Lytlsmlvlian left their home and ventured into the new Earth Lytlsmlvl was apart of and missed their home’s departure, they would remain on that Earth with unexpected results. At any rate Lytlsmlvl was like any other town, it had homes, schools, a library, stores, a police and fire departments and even a hospital. All these things altered to the equivalent of whatever Earth they were on as well.
Lytlsmlvl would only stay on an Earth for three months, then move on.
The Paradox Stranger knew of this place and realized that sense it was not a part of the Parodyverse, the Hooded Hood did not know of it, yet. Likewise, anyone from this place would be separate from the Parodyverse and there for unknown to the Hooded Hood and therefore perfect to set up as the champion they needed.

Now child, I must mention here that this universe you now call home was first created when the hero we previously mentioned called Jarvis used his vast cosmic power and started the Parodyverse. This event caused many strange milestones, but one is important to this story. A baby clearly linked to Lytlsmlvl and in fact the entire Multiverse was born to the Lytlsmlvlians.
Solar systems and galaxies could be seen in his eyes and a strange aura made of the same effect surround his body. He was called Scttbsn, which means child of promise. As the boy grew his link to the Multiverse grew and became more and more apparent. While everyone else would forget the various Earths Lytlsmlvl would appear and disappear from, he would remember. At first they would think he was making up these strange stories about their land changing worlds every three months. Then as he got older and started to advance in leadership positions they started to listen. The Paradox Stranger knew this was the one who would one day become the champion the Chronicler and his associates, the Triumvirate, would need. He reported to them and was told to wait till the proper time.

Now the time came for the Earth hopping Lytlsmlvl to be brought into the Parodyverse. The Chronicler knew it would take a powerful force to draw Lytlsmlvl in so he contracted out the job to another cosmic being known as the Omnisoul. The Omnisoul obtained two powerful artifacts, the quantum bands previously belonging to the Protector of the Universe and the Flashlight Battery belonging to the Parodyverse Earth’s Yellow Flashlight (a champion who served the ancient race called the GardenSmurfs). The Omnisoul broke down the objects into pure energy and used it as a beacon to the universe hopping stretch of land.

While Lytlsmlvl felt the effect of the energy, Scttbsn felt it stronger. He was the Chief Governor at that point, and he found his body flooded with his strange Multiversal energy. He almost fainted. When asked what was wrong he said, “Something’s.. pulling our land. We’re going somewhere! There’s something else. My ‘gifts’ are getting stronger! AAAARRRGGHHH!”
Scttbsn’s Multiversal energy, the birthright that connected him to Lytlsmlvl, answered the call back in spades. So strong was the energy flashback that he passed out. While out his Multiversal power sent forth a powerful response towards the source of the beacon. As it traveled through the dimensions it transformed into Chronic Waves of Multidimensional energy.

When the Chronic Waves hit the Parodyverse it caused all sorts of problems in space and time, but while all of that was occurring Lytlsmlvl started to appear thirty miles from Paradopolis, a major city on Earth Parodyverse. This was just as the Paradox Stranger had planned. He even managed to get the human whom was chosen to fool the Hood to be at the same spot Lytlsmlvl was going to appear at. The natural retcon that occurs every time Lytlsmlvl appears began to happen while the strange Chronic Wave disruptions were going on. This meant that the watchful Hooded Hood was distracted and did not notice the unconscious Scttbsn within Lytlsmlvl as it entered the Parodyverse.

So as I said before, this was a perfect time for the Paradox Stranger to lure the human man whom was secretly chosen to stand in as a distraction. The mortal’s name was Tom Irving. When Tom went to the site where Lytlsmlvl was appearing, Scttbsn merged with Tom. Neither man knew this was going on and Scttbsn remained dormant within Tom Irving.
The Paradox Stranger’s plan was to switch the essence of Scttbsn with Irving, a native of the Parodyverse, for three months (the time Lytlsmlvl would be in the Parodyverse), then his true home would leave and the Paradox Stranger’s new champion would be bonded, in part with his new home. Basically what was needed, a champion from elsewhere (so the Hood would be oblivious to him) would be one with the universe he was destined to save right under the Hood’s nose.
As for young Tom Irving, well, he would go on with Lytlsmlvl, not knowing any different.
Lytlsmlvl appeared thirty miles from Paradopolis, right on top of where Tom was driving. It’s people believed they always belonged to the Parodyverse. The town’s name is translated to the best English version, now being called LittleSmallville.
Still flaring with power, the unconscious Scttbsn (Parodyverse translated to the name Scott Brunsen) fades out. His essence stored within the Parodyverse native Tom Irving.

And so it was finally time for the hero these cosmic forces had planed for to make his first appearance.

As it has been mentioned before, the Chronic Waves caused much confusion. People and objects from other universes appeared in the Parodyverse while other Parodyverse natives disappeared for other universes. At the moment the city of Paradopolis was under siege from two different alien armies, both from other universes.

Tom found himself a student of the LittleSmallville Junior College. Upon hearing of the trouble in Paradopolis, Tom wished he could do something like the heroes he always read about. That’s when the power of Scttbsn flowed through Tom. Instead of the pure Multiversal form, where Scttbsn unknowingly draws forth-raw energy from the Multiverse, the power filtered through Tom so that it showed forth as powers from anyone living in the Multiverse.

Discovering that he had all these amazing powers, Tom flew to Paradopolis and helped the Lair Legion fight off the armies. He was named Amazing Guy by the super heroine called Lisa. Right after he started training in the use of his vast array of powers by the Lair Legion. He never became a member but did become friends with the group. Thus began the first (very brief) stage in the life of Earth’s Amazing Guy.

Now, just as the Chronicler had planed, the Hooded Hood swept in to wrap his schemes around Amazing Guy. He led Tom to another universe. One where the Hood’s children were grown and powerful. Once there Amazing Guy found two others who were not from that universe. ManMan, another native of the Parodyverse and Trickshot, a native from a different alternate universe. The three of them triumph over Hood’s son, Dark Thugos. Unfortunately in the process of their win, one of them had to stay behind and sacrifice himself. Tom chose to be the one. So in a blaze of glory the new hero Amazing Guy died.

Or did he? The truth is that at the last minute Tom and within him Scttbsn were saved by the Omnisoul. Scttbsn was really in no danger as his Multiversal powers protected him, not to mention that in his phased state within Tom, he couldn’t be harmed or even detected. Tom Irving, however, could be killed. Knowing that once Tom appeared on the scene the Hood would have something dastardly in store for him, the Omnisoul watched closely. The Chronicler had put the Omnisoul in charge of various projects to prepare for the future and Amazing Guy was one of them. So with the phased Scttbsn in status at the Omnisoul’s home, the Heart of Souls, he reconstructed Tom Irving from the ground up. He noticed in Tom a promise of things to come and planted a seed within him in case the need would arise later. After reemerging Tom with Scttbsn he discovered that instead of picking up all the powers from the Multiverse, he only could create three-dimensional multicolored light images. The power was extremely close to quantum energy. To keep a watch on Tom and Scttbsn, the Omnisoul sent his agent, EGGO the Living Waffle, to watch Amazing Guy.

So Tom found himself recreated, back in his home universe, the Parodyverse, and in trouble fighting many foes and all of his former powers seminally gone. He soon discovered the energy powers now within him and escaped. Once meeting EGGO, he became the new Protector of the Universe. Thus began the brief second stage in the life of Earth’s Amazing Guy.

As Protector of the Universe, Tom fought lesser foes like Dr. Strange-Toilet and alien entities like Virus. When liberating the planet Beatit from Virus, Tom’s internal contact to Scttbsn was shut off. Although the Lytlsmlvlian was still within him, he could not access his powers. To Tom it looked like he was powerless (remember, Tom didn’t know about Scttbsn at this time. He believed the powers were from him.) and he wasn’t sure what to do. Again the Omnisoul had planed on this and made sure those Quantum Bands he had used earlier had been duplicated so that Tom could use them if his connection to Scttbsn was ever shut down.

So Amazing Guy continued his mission as Protector of the Universe with Quantum Bands exactly like those of the previous Protectors. He fought Thugos during the Hooded Hood’s attempted destruction of reality. It was at this time that the three-month limit for Lytlsmlvl to remain in the Parodyverse was up. This would prove to be a test for Amazing Guy. If Scttbsn had faded out with the town, then the merge with Tom was incomplete and all of the plans would end in failure. Luckily is was a success as LittleSmallville vanished while the still intact Amazing Guy continued.
He battled the alien robot mastermind called Brainattack and saved the planet Maxell from his clutches along with that planet’s hero, Victory. During this adventure his connection with Scttbsn was reestablished and his powers returned. The Quantum Bands disappeared and Tom thought to look into their disappearance, but became distracted as he helped various heroes from three universes stop the Hero Hunter. He then rescues a woman he believed to be his girlfriend from Thugos.

It should be noted at this time that when Lytlsmlvl appeared in the Parodyverse, it’s citizens unknowingly adapted to their new universe like they always do. Scttbsn had a consort just before the town swapped universes. Her name was Jnenlmr. She becomes Tom’s girlfriend by the name Janeen Davis. Unlike Scttbsn, she is like the rest of the Lytlsmlvlians in that she has no special powers. She believed, as did Tom that she was his girlfriend when in fact she was Scttbsn’s. When LittleSmallville vanished, moving to other universes Janeen was in Paradopolis and didn’t vanish along with it. As explained earlier this had a strange effect on her Lytlsmlvlian nature. She started to develop the ability to duplicate herself.

So Tom fought Thugos and found himself and Janeen exiled to the dimension of the Hero Feeders. Knowing that Scttbsn could survive in the Parodyverse without Lytlsmlvl the second test was to see if he could survive in Lytlsmlvl without the Parodyverse.
So the Omnisoul saved Tom and Janeen and brought them to Lytlsmlvl. This time Lytlsmlvl was merged with a universe very similar to the Parodyverse. In fact it was the very same universe that the hero Trickshot came from. Tom and Scttbsn were separated. As they did back when they where in Lytlsmlvl before, Scttbsn and Jnenlmr changed. Now Scttbsn became Scott Brunsen while Jnenlmr adapted to Janeen Lemmer. Tom Irving wasn’t a native of Lytlsmlvl so he remained Tom Irving. He wasn’t sure how he got to this strange universe and had no memory of life as Amazing Guy. Because of this Tom left Lytlsmlvl (also called LittleSmallville in this universe) and headed for the big city to start a new life. He had no clue that the Omnisoul had made further changes to Tom back when he was reconstructed. Changes that would surface later, just in case the time would arise.

While Lytlsmlvl was merged with that universe Scott and Janeen were married. Soon after that Lytlsmlvl went on to other universes taking the couple with them. They had four children and spend ten years of their lives in Lytlsmlvl. For some reason the time spent in the Parodyverse affected Lytlsmlvl. Instead of spending three months linked to a particular Earth, it spends three days on each Earth. Also the time spent merged with Tom affected Scttbsn. He no longer remembers each Earth that they travel through. Nevertheless they remain happy. All the worlds Lytlsmlvl merged with during its ten years were similar to the Parodyvseres so changes were few. During this time they have four children. Every so often great pain would rip through Scott’s body. He didn’t know why this was happening but the Omnisoul knew. It was obvious to him that Scott was indeed tied to the true Parodyverse and couldn’t be away for too long. To make the point clearer, the Omnisoul blocked Scott’s powers. Even the very knowledge of his powers or history was blocked.

With the final test passed it was time for the Omnisoul to bring back the Chronicler’s (and therefore his) champion. While ten years passed in Lytlsmlvl only two years passed in the Parodyverse. Still, the time away and the power of the Omnisoul clouded Scttbsn’s and Jnenlmr’s minds. When they were returned to the Parodyverse their minds were still clouded. They remembered life in the Parodyverse before they left. Scott remembered Tom’s life, at least the life he lead through Tom. Lytlsmlvl was back in the Parodyverse as well. It was returned to how it looked during it’s first merging with the Parodyverse. To the couple it seemed that they switched towns yet they had not.

At any rate the third stage of Earth’s Amazing Guy had begun. His Multiversal Powers still concealed within the form of 3D multi- colored energy powers; Scttbsn (still called Scott Brunsen) became Amazing Guy and went off to save the Parodyverse again. He formed the Justa Bunch of Heroes while taking out an alien scout ship, then fought off the terrible Onslaugther and his Death World. Janeen took on the identity of Multiple Woman and fought the alien invasion by his side. They were captured by the cosmic being called She-Captor. Along with various heroes from other alternate worlds, Amazing Guy escaped. Four heroes from other worlds sacrifice themselves to stop She-Captor. While this was going on, Janeen, being a Lytlsmlvlian, continued to change. With the many alternate Earths she’d been too, her powers faded out permanently. She briefly took on the mantle of MooCow Mama but soon opted for complete retirement. Scott’s Multiversal powers fought to fully surface. The Multiversal force within him drew forth memories from other Amazing Guys on alternate Earths to shake him loose from the fog that still clouded his perceptions. The bond he shared with Tom Irving started to reamerge. This fact took even the Omnisoul by surprise.

Amazing Guy continued to have adventures that lead up to a test from the Hooded Hood. He and the JBH found themselves on a planet in the past. Almost loosing his wife he unleashed the Multiversal energy within him. Now the full range of his true abilities were available to him. The 3D energy powers morphed into their true Multiversal energy form. He started to develop a Cosmic Sense tied into his power. All of his energy feats (such as energy manipulation, dimensional travel, flight, increased concentration, and speed) became stronger.

Now the planned champion for the Resolution War stood revealed. The Hooded Hood became aware of the truth of Amazing Guy.
The question yet remains, will Scttbsn fulfill his destiny or will he hand it to another?”

The old man starts to drift off. The little alien boy, looking just a smidgen older, lets the old man ponder.

Well, now you know the truth. AG’s story is not finished yet. I observe as his family grows and his deep fear for their safety grows as well. I observe multiple Amazing Guy’s all through out the infinite Parodyverse. Some are even alternate Tom Irvings. All are linked to Scott Brunsen, he himself being the only wielder of Multiversal energy, the only Lytlsmlvlian chosen. The one true Amazing Guy. I even observe the real Tom Irving. The one who misses his true home, the Parodyverse.

I observe all, for I am.. the Lurker!
